Research summary

My current research focuses on understanding the pathway of nucleic acid incorporation into DNA. By using non-standard bases, we can dissect the pathway and identify essential enzymes. These non-standard bases can also be used to create a 6-base genetic code, if we can engineer the enzymes in the pathway to incorporate them into DNA.
